About Our Ritual Item
The Serkyem Set is an elegant and intricately designed offering vessel crafted from copper with a silver-plated finish and adorned with artificial stones such as turquoise, coral, and lapis lazuli. This two-part vessel features delicate filigree work decorating the upper and lower sections. The top part is elevated and connected to the base, which is ideal for traditional offering rituals. The red coral and blue lapis lazuli are arranged in a symmetrical pattern, enhancing its artistic beauty, while the turquoise accents add a calming and harmonious touch to the design.
The Serkyem Set holds deep spiritual significance in Tibetan Buddhist rituals. It offers sacred liquids such as water or ghee, symbolizing purity and devotion. Pouring the liquid from the upper vessel into the lower one represents the continuous flow of blessings, a sacred gesture in spiritual practices. Mantras are often chanted during the ritual, invoking divine protection and guidance. The filigree detailing on the sides and base further highlights its sacred purpose, making it both a functional and symbolic tool. Used to honor deities, enhance meditation, and foster spiritual well-being, this Serkyem Set is a stunning representation of Tibetan artistry and devotion.
Introduction to Serkyem
The Serkyem, known as Golden Drink, is part of the Dharma Protector's practice. In Tibetan, Ser means "golden," and Kyem means "beverage."
It is offered by pouring the beverage into a cup-like wine glass and placing it into a lower bowl. During the offering, the drink is poured into the cup, and the liquid overflows. The overflowing liquid is highly auspicious because it represents an abundant flow of merits.
