About Our Product
This Sacred Tsongkhapa Statue represents Je Tsongkhapa, one of the most revered masters in Tibetan Buddhism and the founder of the Gelug tradition. Known for his profound wisdom, devotion, and preservation of Buddhist teachings, Tsongkhapa is honored as a great scholar and enlightened teacher. This handcrafted statue measures 10cm in height and weighs 0.2 kg, featuring a copper body adorned with 24K gold plating that highlights the intricate details of his sacred appearance.
The statue depicts Tsongkhapa seated peacefully on a lotus throne, wearing the traditional pointed yellow hat associated with the Gelug tradition. His hands are placed in the teaching gesture, symbolizing the transmission of Dharma wisdom, while lotus flowers bearing sacred attributes rise gracefully beside him. The detailed robes, serene expression, and carefully crafted ornaments reflect the traditional iconography of Tsongkhapa, representing spiritual discipline, knowledge, and the pursuit of enlightenment.
Crafted by skilled artisans, this Tibetan Buddhist statue combines traditional Himalayan craftsmanship with sacred symbolism. The radiant 24K gold plated surface enhances the fine carvings and creates a dignified presence suitable for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, and spiritual collections. This Tsongkhapa sculpture serves as a meaningful representation of wisdom, compassion, and the continuation of authentic Buddhist teachings.
Introduction of Tsongkhapa
Tsongkhapa, whose given name was Losang Dragpa, was a prominent Tibetan religious philosopher and teacher. He flourished in the 14th century and founded the dGe-lugs-pa sect of Buddhism, which became the most dominant form of Tibetan Buddhism. The dGe-lugs-pa sect, also known as the "New School," emerged in the 15th century and remains the most widely practiced form of Tibetan Buddhism globally. Tsongkhapa's teachings, which emphasize the study of logic, meditation, and ethics, continue to influence the development of Tibetan Buddhism.
