About Our Ritual Item :
This magnificent Sacred Buddhist Stupa for Altar stands as a powerful embodiment of enlightenment and spiritual devotion, meticulously crafted to serve as the centerpiece of your meditation practice or temple space. Measuring an impressive 165cm in height and 83cm in width, this substantial copper body stupa features exquisite gold plating that radiates divine energy throughout your sacred space. The intricate construction showcases traditional Tibetan Buddhist artistry, with artificial coral and turquoise stones adorning the multilayered base and harmika, creating a stunning visual representation of the path to nirvana. Weighing 66.16kg, this substantial piece demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship and authentic construction methods passed down through generations of Buddhist artisans.
The ornate design features elaborate relief work depicting auspicious Buddhist symbols, including mythical snow lions, dharma wheels, and intricate foliate patterns that represent the interconnectedness of all beings. The gold-plated copper chorten displays a distinctive pentagonal harmika chamber with latticed windows, symbolizing the eyes of Buddha watching over the four cardinal directions and the heavens above. The crowned spire rises majestically through thirteen circular rings, representing the stages of enlightenment, culminating in a moon disc, a sun disc, and a wish-fulfilling jewel at the apex. The turquoise and coral inlays create a striking contrast against the gilded surface, following traditional Tibetan color symbolism, where turquoise represents the sky and healing. In contrast, coral embodies life-force energy and protection from negative influences.
This Buddhist altar stupa serves as more than decorative art—it functions as a sacred reliquary and meditation focal point that accumulates merit and blessings for practitioners. The multi-tiered square base features lotus petal moldings and intricate repousse work showcasing protective deities and auspicious emblems that guard against obstacles on the spiritual path. Perfect for Buddhist temples, meditation centers, yoga studios, or dedicated home altars, this handcrafted Tibetan stupa invites the presence of enlightened beings into your practice space. Each element of this gold-plated copper Buddhist stupa—from the foundation representing earth to the spire reaching toward celestial realms—embodies the complete journey toward awakening, making it an invaluable addition to any serious practitioner's collection of sacred Buddhist altar pieces.
Introduction To Stupa :
Before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. Some were cremated, but sometimes they were buried in a seated, meditative position. The mound of earth covered them up. Thus, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation, much as the Buddha was when he achieved Enlightenment and knowledge of the Four Noble Truths. The base of the stupa represents his crossed legs as he sat in a meditative pose. The middle portion is the Buddha’s body, and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Before images of the human Buddha were created, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
