Nine Stages of Vipassana:

(Stage 2) The Power of Concentration: It involves the monk tying the elephant up with a rope, symbolizing the first signs of mindfulness. The monkey continues to lead the elephant, symbolizing a mind still controlled by distractions.

(Stages 3 & 4) The Power of Memory: As the monk masters their mind, the elephant turns white, symbolizing a mind that's been purified and is now more focused. Whenever their mind starts to wander, the monk remembers to bring it back to mindfulness.

(Stages 5 & 6) The Power of Comprehension: As the monk guides the elephant, and the monkey follows along, it symbolizes the mind finding its footing. The path grows clearer, and the flames that once lit it begin to fade.

(Stages 7 & 8) The Power of Diligence: It involves the monk riding the elephant, symbolizing the complete removal of mental distractions.

(Stage 9) The final stage, Perfect Equanimity, involves the monk soaring into the sky, symbolizing complete liberation, effortless concentration, and enlightenment.
