Introduction To The Serkyem Set :
The serkyem offering is one of the most iconic prayers to the Dharma Protectors ritual practice. In essence, it is a very powerful extended offering to the Dharma Protector requesting swift assistance. As with any offering, serkym generates great merits, clears the way for what we need to accomplish, and invites the necessary resources and conditions, but does so much quicker than the usual offerings. Hence, it has become a very popular prayer and is commonly practiced by modern practitioners requesting assistance, especially in times of emergencies or dire need.
The Serkyem is also known as Golden Drink, water offering part of Dharma Protector's ritual practice. In Tibetan, Ser means "golden," and Kyem means "beverage." It is offered by pouring the beverage into a cup-like a wine glass, placed into a lower bowl. The beverage is poured into the cup during the offering, where the liquid overflows into the lower bowl. The symbol of the overflowing liquid is highly auspicious because it represents an abundant flow of merits.
