Introduction To The Thangka :

Mandala literally translates to "circle." Kyilkhor, the Tibetan term for mandala, meaning "center and surrounding surroundings." It is a circle that is used as a visual aid for focus and introversive meditation. Meditating with a mandala leads to insights and helps to raise one's level of focus. It also aids in the activation of powers inside oneself, culminating in "Siddhi" or super-natural forces. This process is graphically represented by the mandala. It is not just theoretical, but also practical as an operational strategy containing a defined blueprint for the process's actual fulfillment inside oneself. As a result, it becomes a tool (Yantra). It is claimed that simply glancing at a mandala cleanses one's soul spiritually.

How to take care of your thangka?

-Hang your thangka in a traditional silk brocade
-Regular Inspection of your thangka; examine the borders and all attachments.
-Keep thangkas covered when they are on display but not in use.
-Rotate thangkas between display and storage on a regular basis, two to four times a year, to reduce the amount of exposure to light. Keep away from sunlight and humidity.
-Do not apply liquids or other materials to the surface of the thangka.

At the Enlightenment Thangka, the consecration procedure entails a precisely planned set of rituals and ceremonies. As requested for consecration/ blessing, we take the thangka to respective Monasteries.
