About Our Statue :

This handmade, oxidized copper statue of Maitreya Buddha stands 5.7” (14.5 cm) tall, with a 4.7” (12 cm) broad base, and weighs 0.56 kg. Crafted with expert skill, the statue boasts a rich, oxidized finish that lends it an elegant, timeless appearance. Designed by skilled artisans, this piece represents Maitreya, the future Buddha, symbolizing loving-kindness and hope. The statue of Maitreya Buddha is depicted seated in padmasana (lotus posture) on a lotus base, symbolizing purity and spiritual awakening. Both of his hands hold the Dharmachakra (Wheel of Dharma), representing the teaching and turning of the Buddha’s doctrine. On his shoulders rest two Upatala figures, with the right shoulder adorned with a Dharma wheel and the left with a kalasha (sacred vase), symbolizing spiritual wealth and abundance. This intricate iconography highlights Maitreya’s role as the future Buddha and the bearer of hope and compassion.

Introduction to Maitreya Buddha:

Maitreya Buddha is known as the Future Buddha in the Buddhist tradition. He is believed to be the next enlightened Buddha who will appear on Earth after the teachings of the current Buddha, Shakyamuni, have declined. Maitreya embodies loving-kindness, compassion, and hope, promising to renew the Dharma (Buddhist teachings) and guide sentient beings toward liberation and enlightenment. He is often depicted seated in a relaxed posture or meditating, symbolizing his readiness to come and teach when the time is right. Devotees look to Maitreya as a source of inspiration for patience, kindness, and the future flourishing of Buddhism.

How do you take care of your statues?

• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
• Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
