The figure of Lord Yamraj, the deity of death, is portrayed seated atop a moon disc lotus seat in this statue. The deity is depicted in his characteristic wrathful appearance sitting on a moon disc lotus seat as blazing fire surrounds him, representing death's transformative power, which is seen as a form of spiritual purification and rebirth. He is shown holding a noose or a lasso in his right hand, which he uses to capture and subdue demons and negative energies that threaten the practice of Buddhism.
