About Our Product
This Lord of Death Yama Dharmaraja Sculpture is a premium Himalayan masterpiece crafted from copper and finished with antique mercury gold, reflecting decades of tradition and refined artistry. Standing 17 cm tall, the statue depicts Yama Dharmaraja, the fierce guardian of justice, in a dynamic wrathful posture atop a prostrate figure, symbolizing the triumph of law, moral order, and karmic accountability. Every detail—from the ornate crown and ritual ornaments to the flowing drapery and expressive features—demonstrates the exceptional craftsmanship expected in a 40-year-old premium piece.
The head and expression of Yama Dharmaraja are particularly striking. He has the glaring, buffalo-like head symbolizing his power to vanquish death and conquer the Indian god Yama. His three round, bulging eyes represent all-pervasive awareness across past, present, and future. The flaming brows and open mouth convey his wrathful protection, serving as a potent reminder of his role as a fierce guardian who subdues ignorance, ego, and harm while upholding justice. This combination of symbolic attributes and expressive features underscores his authority, vigilance, and spiritual power.
This premium antique statue is ideal for display on an altar, in a sacred space, or within a Himalayan art collection. Its symbolic presence encourages mindfulness of ethical conduct, respect for karmic law, and the cultivation of spiritual discipline. A rare and valuable piece, this Yama Dharmaraja statue embodies profound spiritual significance while showcasing the timeless artistry of Himalayan metallurgical craftsmanship.
Introduction To Yama Dharmaraja
Yama Dharmaraja is a Tantric Buddhist - wisdom deity - protector of the Method Class (father) of Anuttaryoga Tantra specifically used by those engaged in the practices of the Vajrabhairava Tantra. Both Vajrabhairava and Yama Dharmaraja are wrathful emanations of Manjushri - a bodhisattva in Mahayana literature but a tantric deity equal to a Buddha in Vajrayana Buddhism.
