Khadgapani is a deity whose name means "the one who holds a khadga," a sword that symbolizes the destruction of ignorance and delusion, both obstacles to enlightenment. As a fierce protector, he guards the dharma (Buddhist teachings) or the Jain spiritual path. The sword represents the sharp wisdom that cuts through the darkness of illusion and ignorance. In artistic depictions, Khadgapani is shown holding the sword high and ready to strike, signifying his active role in protecting and defending spiritual teachings. He is usually shown with a flaming halo behind his head, symbolizing his powerful and enlightened nature. Additionally, he is often depicted stepping on an opposing force, typically as an enemy or demon placed on a sun disc lotus base, further symbolizing his victory over evil and ignorance. This imagery reinforces his protective and purifying energy.

Introduction To Khadgapani

In Vajrayana Buddhism, Khadgapani is a deity who is frequently seen brandishing a sword, signifying his ability to slice through ignorance and impediments in the way of enlightenment. Khadgapani is a guardian deity who is respected for his ability to keep practitioners safe from danger and evil powers. Worshippers ask for his blessings in order to gain bravery, wisdom, and the elimination of impediments to spiritual advancement.

How do take care of your statues?

• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is completely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a
glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching with the bare hand objects can
smudge the face, leaving scratches.
