About Our Thangka :
We have had this Thangka in our collection for over 20 years now. Our thangka was stored away for several years. We were thrilled to discover the quality and depth of these beautiful thangkas when we unveiled them and decided to showcase them online for everyone.
Introduction to Kalachakra mandala
This version of the Kalachakra Mandala is decorated with four auspicious symbols. These symbols are known as Ashtamangala and they are depicted in the four corners of the thangka painting.
The central symbol of the lotus, representing the Buddha, is surrounded by a structure that reminds a palace.
Every detail of the mandala, each deity, and symbol, has both a physical meaning (Outer Kalachakra) and spiritual symbolism (Inner Kalachakra) and they are interconnected by the doors of the structure. This Mandala is a symbol of inner peace and helps to restore physical and mental balance.
