Himalayan Padmapani Figurine | Tibetan Avalokiteshvara Statue

Padmapani is a peaceful form of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, and his name means “Lotus in Hand.” He represents compassion, loving-kindness, purity, and the wish to guide beings away from suffering. The figure is depicted with a lotus rising beside his shoulder, his principal attribute and a symbol of spiritual purity and awakening. His lowered hand forms a graceful gesture associated with generosity and compassionate giving. He wears an elaborate crown, necklaces, arm ornaments, and flowing garments, while a richly decorated halo surrounds his head. Padmapani stands upon a detailed lotus pedestal, which symbolizes purity and spiritual awakening. The antique copper finish brings definition to the deity’s ornaments, garments, lotus petals, and traditional Himalayan details.

This Padmapani Avalokiteshvara statue is suitable for a Buddhist altar, shrine, meditation room, spiritual space, or home display. It can serve as a meaningful focal point for meditation and prayer while reminding practitioners to develop compassion, kindness, generosity, and concern for the well-being of others.

Introduction of Chenrezig

Chenrezig embodies the bodhisattva's vow to delay Buddhahood until every sentient being on Earth has achieved liberation from suffering and the cycle of death and rebirth. His name translates to 'the Lord who looks in all ways.' The practice of Chenrezig/Avalokiteshvara is encouraged to cultivate a calm and compassionate heart, as compassion is fundamental to the Buddhist path. He listens to the prayers of all sentient beings during times of challenge and difficulty.
