About Our Product
This Himalayan Altar Buddha Shakyamuni Statue is a sacred Buddhist statue made for meditation, altar practice, and spiritual decor. It measures 34.5cm in height, 24cm in length, and 17cm in width, with a weight of 3.51kg. The statue is made from a copper body, finished with 24K gold plating, and detailed with acrylic color, giving it a radiant devotional presence for shrine rooms, prayer spaces, and Buddhist collections.
Shakyamuni Buddha is shown seated in a meditative posture upon a lotus base, representing purity and the path toward awakening. His right hand reaches downward in the Bhumisparsha Mudra, the earth touching gesture that recalls the moment of his enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. His left hand rests gently in his lap, holding an alms bowl, symbolizing renunciation, discipline, and spiritual nourishment. The serene face, dark blue hair, ushnisha, painted robe, and balanced posture reflect the traditional iconography of the historical Buddha.
In Buddhist practice, Shakyamuni Buddha represents wisdom, compassion, inner peace, and liberation from suffering. Placing this statue on an altar, shrine, meditation corner, or Dharma practice space can serve as a reminder of clarity, patience, and the awakened path. It is also a thoughtful spiritual gift for practitioners, collectors, or anyone seeking a sacred symbol of enlightenment and peaceful awareness.
Introduction of Shakyamuni Buddha
Siddhartha Gautama, born the crown prince of the powerful Shakya Kingdom, was raised as a king according to his royal father's wishes. Around age 29, he became aware of humanity's immense suffering. He then renounced his palatial lifestyle, lavish clothing, and fortune to seek the source of this anguish and find a cure. After more than six years of study, self-denial, and intense concentration, he finally achieved his objective, attaining nirvana and becoming a Buddha. Following this enlightenment, he stated that he had visited a deer park outside Varanasi, specifically Sarnath (Benares), India.
