About Our Product
This Hayagriva Ritual Phurba is a sacred Vajrayana Buddhist ritual object made from copper with electro gold and silver plating. Measuring 34 cm in height, 6.5 cm in length, and 6.4 cm in width, with a weight of 1.31 kg, this ritual Phurba carries a powerful devotional presence for Buddhist altars, shrine rooms, meditation spaces, and ceremonial displays. Its radiant gold and silver finish highlights the spiritual character of the piece while honoring the traditional form of the Tibetan ritual dagger.
The design features a wrathful Hayagriva inspired head at the upper section, detailed ornamental bands, and a three edged blade form that is symbolic in Vajrayana practice. Hayagriva is revered as a powerful protective deity associated with the removal of obstacles, harmful forces, and inner confusion. The Phurba itself represents the firm concentration of enlightened energy, used symbolically to pin down negativity, ego, and delusion. The gold plated details add sacred brilliance, while the silver plated elements bring contrast to the carved deity face, handle, and blade.
In Tibetan Buddhist practice, a Phurba is not viewed as an ordinary dagger but as a ritual symbol of transformation, protection, and spiritual awakening. It reminds practitioners to cut through ignorance, stabilize the mind, and move toward enlightenment with wisdom and compassion. Placed on an altar, this Hayagriva ritual Phurba supports a peaceful and focused sacred space, inspiring devotion, courage, protection, and inner clarity.
Introduction To The Phurba :
The ceremonial dagger (Sanskrit: Kila; Tibetan: phurba) is essential for expelling evil and is considered particularly effective in neutralizing the forces obstructing Tantric Buddhist practice. It has ancient origins, first appearing in the Indian Rig Veda as the core blade of the vajra used by Indra to destroy the primordial cosmic snake Vritra. Kila, derived from Sanskrit, was most likely associated with Vedic sacrifices. Meditation on the Vajrakila Tantra, an early Indian scripture first promoted in Tibet in the eighth century by Padmasambhava, one of the founding teachers of Tibetan Buddhism, is used to invoke the three-headed Vajrakila Buddha.
