About Our Product
This Handcrafted Milarepa Figurine is a sacred stone relief artwork created for meditation spaces, shrine rooms, Buddhist altars, and spiritual home decor. Measuring 12.5 cm in height, 9.5 cm in length, and 4 cm in width, with a weight of 0.47 kg, this sculpture carries a quiet and grounded devotional presence. Milarepa is one of Tibet’s most beloved Buddhist masters, remembered as a great yogi, poet, and practitioner of deep meditation.
The sculpture depicts Milarepa seated within a carved stone frame, with one hand raised near his ear in his well known listening gesture. This posture reflects his connection with meditation, inner realization, and the sacred songs through which he shared Dharma teachings. His calm expression, seated form, simple robe, lotus base, and cave like background details give the piece a traditional Himalayan spiritual character.
In Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Milarepa represents perseverance, transformation, devotion, and the power of sincere practice. His life reminds practitioners that wisdom and peace can arise through discipline, meditation, and the courage to transform past mistakes into awakening. Placed on an altar or meditation corner, this stone Milarepa sculpture becomes a meaningful reminder of inner strength, spiritual clarity, and the path toward enlightenment.
Introduction of Milarepa
Milarepa is widely regarded as Tibet’s most beloved and highly accomplished Buddhist master. Both scholars and laypeople still sing his songs today. Early in his life, Milarepa committed numerous evil deeds, including sending hailstorms and practicing black magic to harm people. He eventually regretted these actions and sought guidance from the great Indian master Marpa, who accepted him as his student after rigorous testing. Marpa gave Milarepa the name Milarepa, which translates to "Crazy Miller," a nickname given to him due to his eccentric appearance and behavior during his early days as a disciple. Milarepa persevered through immense hardships and meditation, ultimately achieving the realization of Vajradharahood, as foretold by Marpa. He became one of Tibet’s most celebrated yogis and poets, with a significant legacy in the Drukpa Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism.
