Traditional Statue of Buddhist Deity, Guru Rinpoche With Consort
Our Traditionally made oxidized Statue of Guru Rinpoche with Consort is homemade, entirely by hand by Master Artisan. Guru Rinpoche is depicted seated firmly on a lotus seat while the consort is seated on guru rinpoche's lap, facing her back toward us. Guru Rinpoche clutches a vajra in his right hand and a skullcap in his left. His consort is seated on his lap, embracing him with her right hand while holding a flaying knife (Kartika) and a skullcup in her left. Our artisan has kept the design simple and accurate while adding all the necessary details. The molding of the copper body and intricate design pattern took our master artisan months of total dedication to complete the statue.

Guru Rinpoche was an instrumental figure in Tibetan Buddhism. In Tibetan Buddhism, Padmasambhava's teachings are said to have an oral lineage (kama) as well as a lineage of the hidden treasure texts (termas). He is said to appear in visionary encounters with tertöns, and his form is visualized during guru yoga practice, particularly in the Nyingma school. He is revered by Buddhists in Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, India's Himalayan states, and other countries around the world.
