Tibetan Divine Thangka of White Mahakala | Protector of Dharma
A skilled artist at Enlightenment Studio painted the stunning Divine Thangka of White Mahakala by hand. It is made of sturdy cotton canvas and has a brilliant, timeless beauty due to the combination of 24K gold and natural Lhasa stone colors. In addition to being a work of art, this thangka is a sacred symbol that contains the profound spiritual energy of White Mahakala, who is respected for his capacity to bring protection and wealth.
White Mahākāla represents a peaceful and compassionate aspect of Mahākāla, who is viewed as both a protector of Dharma and a bestower of great prosperity. Unlike his other forms, which are associated with anger/hostility, White Mahākāla exhibits calmness and serenity, representing the peaceful protection of the Dharma. White Mahākāla is often depicted with a radiant white body, signifying the absolutely pure and the ability to gently but powerfully remove hindrances to success on the path toward Buddhahood. In Tibetan Buddhism, the practitioner invokes White Mahākāla to eliminate both the material and spiritual obstacles to the continuance of the practitioner's spiritual journey. The Five Dzambhalas represent the five forms of abundance: material, physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional. Yellow Dzambhala is a source of financial stability, whereas Black, Green, and Red Dzambhalas are a source of health or welfare. These deities embody the Buddha's teaching of compassion and are seen as examples through which practitioners learn how to be generous, use money wisely, and grow spiritually. His multiple arms hold various symbolic objects, e.g., a jewel or a curved knife, which provide opportunities for bestowing blessings, for offering spiritual bounty, and for providing protection. He is Surrounded by Five Dzambhala Deities.
