Divine Bhavachakra Thangka portrays the sacred Buddhist teaching of samsara, karma, and liberation, representing the cycle of existence and the way toward enlightenment. The powers of ignorance, craving, and aversion, which cause beings to live in agony, are at the core of the wheel. The outer rings represent various states of consciousness and karmic acts of kindness, such as the worlds of gods, humans, animals, and hell beings. The Wheel of Life is a reminder of how fleeting everything is and how crucial it is to escape this circle to become enlightened. With an angry look, the Yama, the lord of death, is shown grasping the wheel, signifying that death is inevitable. The surrounding layers depict creatures caught in the samsara cycle, highlighting the pain that comes with the cycle of birth and death as well as the repercussions of their deeds. This thangka powerfully illustrates the lessons of mortality and the significance of spiritual emancipation.
