Powerful Marichi Dev Canvas Print | 8-Armed Protector Deity
Best 23 x 29 Inches
The beautiful Marichi Devi artwork represents divine energy and enlightenment. Printed on cotton canvas, it showcases the intricate details, vibrant colors, and spiritual essence of the original thangka. Created in the respected Newar tradition, Marichi, the Tantric goddess of protection and dawn, is invoked to shield practitioners from darkness, fear, and concealed dangers.
The Marichi is seated on a blooming lotus throne, which is positioned atop a golden chariot drawn by nine boar-headed figures. Her golden face radiates peace, the right red face channels wrathful determination, and the left boar face reflects her dawn-related nature, dispelling ignorance and obscurity. She wears a five-jeweled crown, flowing silk garments, and divine ornaments, holding potent ritual objects in her eight hands. Surrounding her is a radiant aureole styled like the rays of the rising sun, bordered with flames and beaded mandala motifs. A golden halo behind her head emphasizes her divine luminosity, while the temple-inspired background with cracked stone textures, ritual bells, and suspended oil lamps makes this Marichi print a testament to her divine luminosity and role in enlightenment.
