About our Citipati
This handcrafted Citipati statue is made of ethically sourced bone and has a wooden base. It is 15 cm in height and has a beautiful. The statue depicts the wrathful Buddhist deity Citipati, who is also known as Yama Dharmaraja. Citipati is the lord of death and is often depicted as a fearsome skeleton with a garland of skulls. However, he is also a protector of the Dharma and is said to help those who have passed away on their journey to the next life.
The statue is made with high-quality materials and is built to last. It is also very sturdy and can withstand even the most careful handling. The wooden base adds a touch of elegance and makes the statue even more special.
Introduction To skull Headed Phurba :
The ritual dagger (Sanskrit: Kila; Tibetan: Phurba) is essential to dispelling evil and is understood to be especially helpful in neutralizing the forces that impede Tantric Buddhist practice. Its origins are ancient, appearing in the Indian Rg Veda as the central blade of the vajra that Indra used to slay the primordial cosmic snake Vritra. Its Sanskrit term, Kila, which means peg or stake, was probably linked to Vedic sacrifices. The three-headed Vajrakila Buddha is invoked through meditation on the Vajrakila Tantr, an early Indian text first propagated in Tibet in the eighth century by Padmasambhava, one of the founding masters of Tibetan Buddhism.
