About Our Product
This Buddhist Eight Stupa Collection Set is a sacred ritual artifact made for Buddhist altars, shrine rooms, and meditation spaces. Each stupa measures 22cm in height, 12.5cm in length, and 12.5cm in width, with a single weight of 0.54kg and a total set weight of 4.34kg. The set is made from machine made copper with gold plating, and decorated with gemstone, coral, and turquoise for a bright ceremonial presence.
Introduction of Stupa Set
Prior to Buddhism, great teachers were interred in mounds. While some were cremated, others were buried in a seated, meditative posture, covered by earth. Consequently, the domed shape of the stupa evolved to symbolize a person seated in meditation, mirroring the Buddha's posture upon attaining Enlightenment and understanding the Four Noble Truths. The stupa's base represents his crossed legs in a meditative pose, the middle section signifies the Buddha’s body, and the top of the mound, featuring a pole rising from the apex encircled by a small fence, symbolizes his head. Before human images of the Buddha were created, reliefs frequently depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
