About Our Product
The Buddhist Altar Oil Lamp is crafted from brass and designed as a sacred offering object for Buddhist shrine rooms, meditation spaces, and devotional settings. Measuring 50cm in height, 23cm in length, and 13cm in width, with a weight of 3.53kg, this tall ritual lamp carries an impressive presence suitable for altar arrangements and spiritual collections. Its traditional structure, detailed brass work, and aged surface appearance reflect the artistic heritage of Himalayan ritual craftsmanship.
The lamp features a multi layered design with a broad oil offering bowl, a decorated central column, and a raised upper section crowned with a finial. Small Buddha figures are placed around the upper structure, each seated in meditative postures and adding sacred detail to the overall form. The lotus inspired patterns, engraved borders, hanging ornaments, and carefully shaped sections create a harmonious connection between ritual purpose and decorative artistry.
In Buddhist practice, offering lamps symbolize the light of wisdom, the removal of ignorance, and the cultivation of clarity and compassion. The flame offered before the Buddha represents awakened awareness and the wish to illuminate the path toward enlightenment. This brass oil lamp can be placed on a Buddhist altar, shrine table, meditation room, or Dharma practice space as a meaningful symbol of devotion, mindfulness, and spiritual aspiration.
Introduction of Oil Lamp
Offering a butter lamp is also a deeply spiritual practice. The traditional practice of preparing a butter lamp starts by washing one’s hand, wearing a mask to protect from contaminating the butter lamp through one’s breath, making the wick out of pure cotton, and cleaning the chalices with a clean piece of cloth reserved for this or fresh mosses from the trees, which was commonly used in old times. The entire process is a meditative spiritual practice that engages a person both physically and mentally, provided the person knows and practices it according to the established norms.
