Introduction To The Thangka :

Shakyamuni Buddha was a teacher whose teachings served as the foundation for the development of the Wholesome Dharma. As the first edified person to be worshiped while standing on two legs, he is revered as the Supreme Buddha.

It is important to clarify that, despite some misunderstanding among non-Buddhists, the Buddha was not regarded as a deity. He was an ordinary person like the rest of us who was able to develop an exceptional sense of presence.

How to take care of your thangka?

-Hang your thangka in a traditional silk brocade
-Regular Inspection of your thangka; examine the borders and all attachments.
-Keep thangkas covered when they are on display but not in use.
-Rotate thangkas between display and storage on a regular basis, two to four times a year, to reduce the amount of exposure to light. Keep away from sunlight and humidity.
-Do not apply liquids or other materials to the surface of the thangka.
