This tiny yet meaningful sculpture stands 4.1"/10.5cm tall, has a base width of 2.8"/7cm, and weighs 0.25 kg, making it a great complement to small areas such as personal shrines, altars, or meditation corners. Amitabha is depicted in a tranquil seated posture, holding a begging bowl in his lap to symbolize renunciation and the simplicity of the enlightened life. His peaceful countenance represents the knowledge and compassion he bestows on individuals seeking rebirth in his Pure Land, Sukhavati. This statue, with its gold highlights and oxidized copper details, is a profound spiritual item suitable for devotional practice, meditation, or contemplation of Amitabha's teachings on unlimited light and boundless compassion.
Amitabha is renowned for his exceptional longevity, the accumulation of discernment, pure perception, and profound awareness of the emptiness of phenomena. According to these scriptures, Amitabha possesses infinite merit due to his virtuous deeds in countless previous lives as the bodhisattva Dharmakra. Because Amitabha means "Infinite Light" and Amityus means "Infinite Life," Amitabha is also known as "The Buddha of Immeasurable Light and Life."
Introduction to Amitabha Buddha:
Amitabha Buddha, also known as the "Buddha of Infinite Light," is revered across Mahayana Buddhism for his immense compassion and promise to welcome all beings to the Pure Land, a realm of bliss where enlightenment is assured. Amitabha's practice emphasizes the power of faith and the chanting of his name, offering a path to salvation and enlightenment that is open to everyone, regardless of their spiritual attainment.
How do you take care of your statues?
• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by a Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
