About Our Product
This Handcrafted Sage Shakyamuni Buddha Statue is a finely handcrafted Buddhist statue created from an oxidized copper body and enhanced with 24K gold plating, silver plating, and detailed acrylic colors. Measuring 16 cm in height, 11 cm in length, and 7.5 cm in width, with a weight of 0.83 kg, the sculpture portrays Shakyamuni Buddha seated peacefully upon an intricately designed lotus pedestal. The contrasting tones of oxidized copper, silver accents, and golden details highlight the serene expression, detailed robes, and traditional Buddhist artistry.
Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, is revered as the historical Buddha who attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree and revealed the path of wisdom, compassion, and liberation. This statue depicts him in the Bhumisparsha Mudra, with his right hand touching the earth as a witness to his awakening, symbolizing determination, enlightenment, and victory over ignorance. His left hand rests in a meditative position while holding an alms bowl, representing simplicity, discipline, renunciation, and the mindful practice of the enlightened path.
The carefully crafted robe patterns, peaceful expression, and lotus pedestal reflect the qualities of wisdom, harmony, and awakened awareness. This Shakyamuni Buddha statue is ideal for meditation spaces, Buddhist altars, study areas, and sacred interiors, serving as a meaningful reminder to cultivate mindfulness, compassion, and the journey toward enlightenment.
Introduction of Shakyamuni Buddha
Siddhartha Gautama was born as the crown prince of the powerful Shakya Kingdom, raised to be a king according to his royal father's wishes. However, around age 29, he became aware of humanity's immense suffering. He then renounced his lavish lifestyle, opulent clothing, and fortune to discover the source of this anguish and find a remedy. After nearly six years of study, self-denial, and intense concentration, he achieved his goal: enlightenment (becoming a Buddha). He later claimed to have visited a deer park near Sarnath (Benares), outside Varanasi, India.
