About Our Product

This Handmade Buddha Shakyamuni Sculpture is an antique copper Buddhist statue created for meditation, peace, and inner reflection. It measures 18cm in height, 12cm in length, and 8cm in width, with a weight of 1.02kg. The dark aged copper surface gives the sculpture a sacred and devotional appearance, making it suitable for Buddhist altars, shrine shelves, meditation rooms, and spiritual home decor.

This Buddha Shakyamuni is depicted with a calm face, curled hair, elongated ears, and a seated lotus posture. His right hand touches the earth in Bhumisparsha Mudra, the earth-touching gesture that represents the moment of enlightenment and his victory over illusion. His left hand rests in his lap holding an alms bowl, symbolizing simplicity, discipline, and the life of the awakened teacher. The robe drapes naturally across one shoulder, while the lotus base supports the figure with a traditional Himalayan altar presence.

This Shakyamuni Buddha sculpture is ideal for meditation practice, daily prayer, altar offerings, and peaceful spiritual display. Practitioners may place it near incense, offering bowls, butter lamps, sacred texts, or thangka paintings as a reminder of mindfulness, wisdom, compassion, and the path toward awakening. Its presence encourages calm reflection and supports a meaningful connection with the teachings of the historical Buddha.

Introduction of Shakyamuni Buddha

Siddhartha Gautama, born the crown prince of the powerful Shakya Kingdom, was raised as a king according to his royal father's wishes. Around age 29, he became aware of humanity's immense suffering. He then renounced his palatial lifestyle, lavish clothing, and fortune to seek the source of this anguish and find a cure. After more than six years of study, self-denial, and intense concentration, he finally achieved his objective, attaining nirvana and becoming a Buddha. Following this enlightenment, he stated that he had visited a deer park outside Varanasi, specifically Sarnath (Benares), India.
