About Our Product
This Sacred Tibetan Offering Lamp is handcrafted from copper with brass accents, designed as a traditional ritual offering vessel for Buddhist meditation, prayer, and ceremonial use. The lamp features a tiered, stable base, a wide bowl for holding ghee or oil, and engraved floral patterns along the bowl and stem that reflect meticulous Himalayan craftsmanship. Its polished metallic surface adds both elegance and sacred energy to any altar or meditation space.
Butter lamps symbolize the offering of light, representing the removal of ignorance and the illumination of wisdom in Buddhist practice. The well-proportioned design, including a 12.5 cm diameter bowl and 17.5 cm height, ensures practical stability while maintaining ceremonial grace. The combination of copper and brass enhances the reflective warmth and traditional aesthetic of this sacred object.
This sacred offering vessel may be placed individually or as part of a set on a personal shrine, temple altar, or meditation room. Lighting the butter lamp during puja, mantra recitation, or daily meditation fosters focus, spiritual merit, and devotional ambiance. Its handcrafted design and symbolic significance make it an ideal addition to any Tibetan Buddhist altar or sacred space, inspiring mindfulness, clarity, and inner peace.
Introduction To The Butter Lamp :
The whole process of offering a butter lamp is also a very spiritual practice. The traditional practice of preparing a butter lamp starts by washing one’s hand, wearing a mask to protect from contaminating the butter lamp through one’s breath, making the wick out of pure cotton, and cleaning the chalices with a clean piece of cloth reserved for this or fresh mosses from the trees, which was commonly used in old times. The whole process is a meditative spiritual practice, which engages a person both physically and mentally, if the person knows and practices it according to the norms.
