About Our Product
This Buddhist Offering Butter Lamp Set is crafted from copper with brass accents, creating a sacred object for Buddhist rituals, meditation, and prayer practices. Each lamp features a tiered base, a wide bowl, and a carefully polished surface, combining functional stability with ceremonial elegance. The intricate engraved patterns along the bowl and stem highlight the skilled craftsmanship, while the warm metallic tones enhance the devotional atmosphere of any altar or sacred space.
The butter lamp symbolizes the offering of light, representing the dispelling of ignorance and the illumination of wisdom in Buddhist practice. Its thoughtfully designed proportions, including the wide bowl for holding ghee or oil and the sturdy base for stability, allow for consistent use during meditation, puja, or spiritual ceremonies. The combination of copper and brass not only adds visual appeal but also aligns with traditional Tibetan ritual aesthetics.
This sacred butter lamp set can be used individually or as a pair on a personal shrine, temple altar, or meditation room. Lighting the lamp serves as a devotional practice, inviting clarity, focus, and merit accumulation. Displayed on an altar, this handcrafted offering lamp enhances the spiritual ambiance, creating a serene and auspicious environment for reflection, prayer, and meditation.
Introduction To The Butter Lamp :
The whole process of offering a butter lamp is also a very spiritual practice. The traditional practice of preparing a butter lamp starts by washing one’s hand, wearing a mask to protect from contaminating the butter lamp through one’s breath, making the wick out of pure cotton, and cleaning the chalices with a clean piece of cloth reserved for this or fresh mosses from the trees, which was commonly used in old times. The whole process is a meditative spiritual practice, which engages a person both physically and mentally, if the person knows and practices it according to the norms.
