About our Statue:
The Tangtong Gyalpo statue is a crafted piece, standing at a height of 6.5” (16.5 cm) and featuring a base width of 4.3” (11 cm). It is made with an oxidized copper body, which gives the statue a unique appearance with an antique finish that enhances its spiritual and historical significance. This statue embodies the essence of Tangtong Gyalpo, a revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism, renowned for his wisdom and significant contributions to both the spiritual and material realms.

Thang Tong Gyalpo is shown in the statue in a seated, contemplative pose, signifying his accomplishments in spirituality and profound reflection. His flowing garments, accentuated by glistening gold, represent his dual roles as both a cultural and spiritual figure. By providing a strong focus point for meditation and prayer, this holy statue enables practitioners to establish a connection with the enlightened energy of one of the most revered Siddhas in Tibet. It is ideal for meditation areas or altars, as it inspires feelings of deep spiritual insight, wisdom, and protection.

Thangtong Gyalpo, also known as Chakzampa, was a 15th-century Tibetan Buddhist lama, physician, blacksmith, architect, and famous yogi. He is remembered for his enormous contributions to Tibetan society, both spiritually and practically. His legacy includes the creation of several bridges, temples, and opera traditions, all while combining his mechanical prowess with profound spiritual understanding.

Introduction to Tangtong Gyalpo:
Tangtong Gyalpo (1361–1485) was a revered Tibetan yogi, engineer, and cultural innovator whose life exemplified the union of profound spiritual realization and practical benefit to society. Recognized as a great Mahasiddha within the Vajrayana tradition, he is most famous for constructing iron-chain suspension bridges throughout Tibet, Bhutan, and Nepal—projects that transformed Himalayan travel and commerce. A master of the Shangpa Kagyu and Nyingma lineages, Tangtong Gyalpo utilized his profound compassion and ingenuity to serve the community, even founding Tibetan opera (Ache Lhamo) to raise funds for his humanitarian endeavors. His legacy endures as a symbol of creativity guided by wisdom, demonstrating how spiritual insight can be applied directly to improving the lives of others.

How do you take care of your statues?

• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. • Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
