Introductio to MandalaFour auspicious symbols are used to embellish this Kalachakra Mandala. The four corners of the thangka artwork feature these symbols, also known as Ashtamangala.
An architectural design like a palace surrounds the lotus flower that serves as the Buddha's representational focal point.
Each element of the mandala, each deity, and each symbol have both a material significance (Outer Kalachakra) and a spiritual significance (Inner Kalachakra), and they are all linked by the building's doors.
This mandala represents inner calm and promotes the return of mental and physical balance.
