Introduction To Chitipati Mahakala :
Chitipati Mahakala also known as Cittapati or Cittipati.
Cittapati is a protector deity or supernatural being in Tibetan Buddhism and Vajrayana Buddhism. It is formed of two skeletal deities, one male and the other female, both dancing wildly with their limbs intertwined inside a halo of flames representing change. The Cittapati is said to be one of the seventy-five forms of Mahakala.
Chitipati belongs to lineages of esoteric Buddhist practice from Tibet. The Sakya school was the first one to include this dancing skeleton couple in their practice which was later adopted by the Gelugs as well.

How does mold affect a Thangka?
Mold thrives in humid environments with little or no air movement. Mold will develop on a thangka in such an environment if it becomes moist or humid. This growth has the potential to harm the fabric, pigment, and binder. On the thangka, molds create a fuzzy covering.
