Buddhist Phurba Ritual Dagger - Symbol of Transformation
About The Ritual Item :
The Buddhist Phurba Ritual Dagger is a beautifully created ceremonial object made of durable brass and iron base, with elaborate details and superb craftsmanship. This phurba is both strong and beautiful, measuring 26.5 cm in height, 13.5 cm in width, and weighing 1.42 kg. Its solid brass design provides durability and ageless appeal, making it an important item for religious ceremonies. In Buddhist traditions, the phurba has profound religious value since it represents the transmutation of bad energy and provides protection from harmful forces.
The Phurba has tremendous imagery, with a deity figure in the middle, surrounded by wings that convey dynamic energy. The deity's visage is angry, representing the forceful removal of ignorance and negativity. The base is embellished with skull designs, which symbolize the transmutation of death and devastation into spiritual force. These symbols, when combined with the sacred sword, are intended to signify the removal of illusions and obstructions in one's spiritual journey. The Phurba is more than just a ritual instrument; it also represents spiritual strength, protection, and transformation.
Introduction To The Phurba :
The ceremonial dagger (Sanskrit: Kila; Tibetan: phurba) is important for expelling evil and is thought to be especially effective in neutralizing the forces that obstruct Tantric Buddhist practice. It has ancient origins, first appearing in the Indian Rg Veda as the core blade of the vajra used by Indra to destroy the primordial cosmic snake Vritra. Kila, meaning peg or stake in Sanskrit, was most likely associated with Vedic sacrifices. Meditation on the Vajrakila Tantra, an early Indian scripture first promoted in Tibet in the eighth century by Padmasambhava, one of the founding teachers of Tibetan Buddhism, is used to invoke the three-headed Vajrakila Buddha.
