Sacred Samantabhadra Buddhist Art | Symbol of Unity
Samantabhadra Buddhist art is created by talented artists who work in the Kathmandu Valley on handmade cotton canvas, utilizing traditional Himalayan thangka methods.. The cotton canvas offers a natural surface that is suitable for spiritual compositions, fine brushstrokes, and minute details. The acrylic colors used in this painting provide Samantabhadra's serene shape, symbolic qualities, and surrounding elements with depth, balance, and vivid expression. The traditional beauty of Himalayan Buddhist painting is preserved while the deity's profound purpose is enhanced by the skillfully applied colors. Sacred features, ornaments, and artistic highlights are adorned with genuine 24K gold, giving them a bright appearance that symbolizes the value of enlightened wisdom.
Samantabhadra, also known as the Bodhisattva of Universal Virtue, is referred to as the personification of pure consciousness, the awakened, natural state of mind. He is an embodiment of a state between two, in which there is no division of wisdom and compassion. This form is often depicted in union, and it represents the unity of emptiness and light, or the reality of things. Samantabhadra is not perceived as the far-off being, yet he serves as the alert of the purity inherent in every creature that is present. His appearance is open, simple, and free of confusion. Instead of something that should be obtained, he refers to the truth, which is always present. We are made to appreciate the natural clarity of our own mind by Samantabhadra and rest in that clarity.
