Authentic Himalayan Ritual Implements for Daily Devotion

The Ritual & Practice collection invites you to step into the sacred world of Himalayan Buddhist traditions with authentic Tibetan and Himalayan spiritual tools to enhance meditation, puja, and daily devotional practices. In Vajrayana Buddhism, the outer world of ritual and the inner world of meditation are never truly separate. Sacred objects, instruments, and practice tools are physical embodiments of enlightened qualities, carefully prescribed by centuries of unbroken lineage tradition to support the practitioner's journey from confusion to clarity, from ego to awakening.

This carefully curated collection features authentic ritual tools, meditation aids, and ceremonial objects to deepen your spiritual practice and enhance your daily devotional rituals. It features ritual objects such as phurba, kangling, kapala, and other sacred objects that support mindfulness, devotion, and spiritual alignment.

The Ritual and practice are divided into three sections:

1. Tantric Sadhana Artifacts:

The objects of tantric sadhana are spiritually significant artifacts used in Vajrayana practice for various purposes, such as deity visualization, ritual offering, ego dissolution, and the direct recognition of the nature of mind.

  • Kangling (Thighbone Trumpet): A sacred instrument for invoking dakinis and recognizing impermanence.
  • Kapala (Skull Cup): Represents the transformation of the five poisons and is used as an offering bowl.
  • Ritual Knives: Symbolize cutting ignorance and ego, encompassing various forms like the Kartika and Tibetan sword.
  • Khatvanga (Tantric Staff): A spiritually potent staff with symbolic elements, representing Padmasambhava and Heruka deities.
  • Ritual Daggers (Phurba): A three-sided dagger for pinning negative forces, embodying wisdom.
  • Ritual Head Crown (Rig Nga): Represents the Five Dhyani Buddhas and the transformation of poisons into wisdom.
  • Snuff Horn: An instrument used historically for rituals, now a valued cultural artifact.
  • Bone Rugen: A full set of bone ornaments related to wrathful deities, used in Chod practice and altar displays.

2. Monastic Instruments:

The instruments of a Tibetan Buddhist monastery serve as essential instruments, each carefully prescribed to open ceremony, invoke deity presence, mark ritual transitions, and carry the practitioner beyond the ordinary mind into the resonant field of the Dharma.

  • Damaru (Hand Drum): A small double-headed drum associated with Shiva and tantric siddhas, utilized in Chöd and sadhana to summon dakinis and mark rhythmic transitions, symbolizing the union of appearance and emptiness through its alternating beats.
  • Dhyangro (Shamanic Frame Drum): A large, single-headed frame drum used in Tibetan and Himalayan rituals for purification, healing, and summoning protective presences, bridging Buddhist and Bön traditions.
  • Gangsa & Ganglu (Ritual Gong Cymbals): Ceremonial fire offerings or homa (fire puja) practice items.
  • Gong: A deep, resonant ceremonial gong that calls practitioners to assembly, opens formal practices, and offers sacred sound to Buddhas and protectors.
  • Gyaling: A piercing double-reed instrument played during major ceremonies and Cham dance, recognized for signaling the arrival of the sacred with its distinctive tone.
  • Jhyamta (Large Ritual Cymbals): Heavy brass cymbals used in formal monastic ceremonies, producing a resonant sound that highlights peak moments of puja and ritual performance.
  • Kangling (Ceremony Bone Trumpet): Made of ethically sourced bone, it is sounded at the commencement of major tantric rituals and cremation ceremonies; its haunting call signifies the start of formal sacred activities.

3. Meditation and Healing Essentials:

Meditation and Healing Essentials discusses objects utilized in Tibetan Buddhist rituals that enhance mindfulness, compassion, and purification.

  • Singing Bowls (Himalayan Bowls): Hand-hammered using sacred metals, producing harmonic tones for meditation, chakra balancing, and sound healing; available in various sizes and finishes.
  • Mala Beads (Trengwa): Traditional rosary of 108 beads for mantra counting and meditation, available in various materials like bodhi seed, rudraksha, and precious stones.
  • Tingshas (Ritual Cymbals): Hand-hammered cymbals used to initiate and conclude meditation sessions, remove negative energy, and enhance present-moment awareness.
  • Incense Burner (Sang Phur): Crafted vessels for burning incense during meditation and puja, available in brass, copper, and silver-plated finishes with Tibetan designs.

Artistic Craftwork:

Handmade by expert artisans, using high-quality materials including copper, brass, silver-plated metals, natural stones, and highlights of 24K gold. Combining traditional designs based on Himalayan Buddhist iconography with practical usability, every tool is spiritually meaningful and durable for long-term practice.
