About Our Product
This Oxidized Copper Shakyamuni Buddha Statue beautifully represents Shakyamuni Buddha, the historical Buddha and enlightened teacher who revealed the path of wisdom, compassion, and liberation. Crafted from an oxidized copper body, this sacred Buddhist sculpture measures 14.5cm in height, 10.5cm in length, and 7cm in width, with a weight of 0.65kg. The rich oxidized surface creates a deep antique appearance, enhancing the finely carved details of the Buddha’s peaceful expression, monastic robes, and traditional Himalayan sculptural style.
The statue depicts Shakyamuni Buddha seated upon a lotus pedestal in the Bhumisparsha Mudra, the earth-touching gesture that represents the moment of his enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree. His right hand reaches toward the earth as a witness to his awakening, while his left hand rests in his lap holding the alms bowl, symbolizing meditation, simplicity, and the teachings he shared with the world. The serene facial expression, elongated earlobes, raised ushnisha, curled hair, and carefully carved robe patterns reflect the traditional iconography of the awakened Buddha.
This Shakyamuni Buddha sculpture serves as a meaningful centerpiece for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, and spiritual collections. The oxidized copper finish gives the statue a profound antique character while highlighting the elegance of Himalayan Buddhist craftsmanship. As a symbol of enlightenment, mindfulness, and inner peace, this sacred artwork inspires practitioners to cultivate awareness, compassion, and a deeper connection with the Buddha’s teachings.
Introduction of Shakyamuni Buddha
Siddhartha Gautama, born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom, was raised as a king according to his royal father's wishes. Around the age of 29, he became aware of the immense suffering experienced by people. He renounced his palatial lifestyle, lavish clothing, and fortune to discover the source of this anguish and find a cure. After over six years of study, self-denial, and intense concentration, he finally achieved his objective, attaining nirvana (becoming a Buddha). He then stated that he had visited a deer park outside Sarnath (Benares), near Varanasi, India.
