Saraswati, Medicine Buddha, Green Tara, Samantabhadra Thangka Painting
Saraswati Thangka Painting:
Saraswati is mostly worshipped for knowledge and education(learning and wisdom). She has one face and two hands holding Vina a stringed instrument and a book. Her legs are crossed and slightly raised and the vina is placed on her lap. She is white in color, seated on a simply drawn large white lotus. Her legs are drawn up in an unusual cross-ankled posture with her knees raised, presumably a posture for musical performance. She is popular with Buddhists, Hindus, and Jains as well. The Buddhists regarded it as one of the twenty-one emanations of the goddess Tara.
Medicine Buddha:
Medicine Buddha, also known as Bhaisajyaguru in Sanskrit, is a revered figure in Mahayana Buddhism, particularly in Tibetan and East Asian traditions. He embodies the healing aspect of Buddha's compassion. According to Buddhist belief, Medicine Buddha has the power to alleviate suffering, both physical and mental, and to bring about spiritual healing. Depicted as a blue-colored Buddha holding a bowl of medicinal nectar, Medicine Buddha is invoked through prayers, meditations, and rituals by those seeking healing for themselves or others. His teachings emphasize the importance of cultivating compassion, wisdom, and mindfulness as essential components of healing and well-being.
Green Tara:
Green Tara, a revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism, symbolizes compassion, swift action, courage, wisdom, and suffering alleviation. Devotees seek her protection and guidance through her mantra, "Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha," invoking her blessings for overcoming obstacles and liberation.
Samantabhadra:
Samantabhadra, also known as Universal Worthy or Pǔxián in Chinese, is a Bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism, particularly in East Asian traditions. He represents boundless virtue and is associated with the practice of the Bodhisattva path, which involves cultivating virtues like generosity, morality, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom. Samantabhadra's teachings emphasize selflessness, compassion, and wisdom for spiritual awakening and liberation from suffering, and are venerated for guidance on the path to enlightenment.
