 About our Ritual Items

The Rinzin Daru Ritual Set includes two handcrafted ceremonial implements, an Emblem Daru and a Flat Daru. The Emblem Daru stands 29 cm tall and 6 cm wide, with a brilliantly painted Golden Fish auspicious emblem at the top. Its companion, the Flat Daru, is 27 cm tall with a blade-shaped structure and a width of 1.7 cm. The set weighs 0.580 kg and is built of an iron body inlaid with silver and brass. Both items are intricately crafted and showcase traditional Himalayan metalwork craftsmanship.

In Tibetan Vajrayana ceremonies, the Daru serves as a sacred offering instrument that symbolizes empowerment and transformation. The Golden Fish emblem on the Emblem Daru is one of the eight auspicious symbols (Ashtamangala), representing spiritual freedom, bravery, and liberation from suffering. The twisted handle and precise craftsmanship reflect the deep intention embedded in these sacred instruments, which are meant to be held during rituals of blessing, protection, or spiritual energy transfer.

The Flat Daru, commonly viewed as a symbolic ceremonial blade, represents the act of cutting through illusion, ego, and ignorance, which is central to Buddhist teachings. This piece is used in empowerment rites (wangkur) to signify clarity and discernment. Together, the Rinzin Daru set serves as not only a functional component of holy practice but also a profound depiction of spiritual journey and development. Suitable for committed practitioners, ritual leaders, and collectors of genuine Vajrayana instruments.

Introduction to Richen Daru

Richen Daru is a ritual set made up of a knife and a spoon used by the Newar community in Nepal. Typically composed of iron, the set has intricate gold and silver ornamentation. The knife, known as a 'Chhuri,' is used to ritually chop food during traditional ceremonies like as weddings, bratabandha, and other religious occasions. The spoon, known as a 'Chamcha,' is used for serving. The Richen Daru set represents affluence and is an important cultural relic that is frequently passed down through generations as a family legacy.
