About Our Statue :
This magnificent Thangtong Gyalpo statue celebrates the life and contributions of the Tibetan Buddhist monk who lived in the 14th century and was known for his spiritual insight, technical prowess, and charitable endeavors. Many of the iron chain suspension bridges in Tibet, for which Thangtong Gyalpo is credited with creating and designing, serve as vital connections between communities and promote Buddhism.

With a height of 6.1 inches and a base measuring 4.7 inches, this statue has a rich and intricate finish thanks to the use of oxidized copper. The Thangtong Gyalpo statue, which weighs 0.88 kg and represents this visionary master in a meditation pose, embodies his spiritual knowledge and profound comprehension of buddhist esoteric wisdom.

Thangtong Gyalpo, also known as Chakzampa, was a 15th-century Tibetan Buddhist lama, physician, blacksmith, architect, and famous yogi. He is remembered for his enormous contributions to Tibetan society, both spiritually and practically. His legacy includes the creation of several bridges, temples, and opera traditions, all while combining his mechanical prowess with profound spiritual understanding.

Introduction to Thang Tong Gyalpo:
Thang Tong Gyalpo (1385–1464), also known as the “Iron Bridge Builder,” was a legendary Tibetan yogi, engineer, physician, blacksmith, and spiritual master. He is considered a great siddha (realized being) and is especially revered in the Nyingma and Drukpa Kagyu traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

How do you take care of your statues?

• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by a Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a
glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching the face with the bare hand can
smudge the face, leaving scratches.
