About Our Statue :
This Milarepa Buddhist Master statue beautifully portrays the great guru in a deeply symbolic way. Made from Lapis Lazuli and highlighted with acrylic gold painting, the statue reflects his strict ascetic lifestyle, symbolizing dedication and self-discipline. Milarepa is known to have survived on wild nettles, and his gaunt appearance emphasizes his deep commitment to spiritual practice. The Lapis Lazuli stone enhances the statue’s spiritual essence, symbolizing wisdom and insight, adding depth to the representation of his journey toward enlightenment.
In his hand, Milarepa holds a skull cup, a common Buddhist symbol representing the transformation of ignorance into wisdom. He is seated on animal skin, signifying his simple and detached life, free from material desires. His right hand is raised to his ear, a well-known gesture that signifies deep listening and openness to the Buddha’s teachings. Dressed in a monk’s robe, his expression is calm and assertive, representing the core values of Buddhism—simplicity, enlightenment, and spiritual liberation.
This statue is more than just a work of art; it symbolizes self-discipline and devotion, reminding us of the power of commitment on the spiritual path. It is an inspiring piece for those seeking wisdom, mindfulness, and enlightenment.
Introduction To Jetsun Milarepa :
Jetsun Milarepa was a prominent Tibetan yogi, poet, and teacher who flourished in the 11th and 12th centuries. The master's clothing with essential ornamental embellishment alludes to his cave life. The throne is covered with deer hide and carved with Ashtamangala (eight auspicious symbols).
How do you take care of your statues?
• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is completely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching with the bare hand objects can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
