Introduction to Maitreya Buddha
Maitreya Buddha is a bodhisattva, or enlightened being, regarded as the future Buddha in many Mahayana Buddhist traditions. According to Buddhist belief, Maitreya will appear on earth to end suffering and spread Buddhist teachings. Maitreya is often depicted sitting on a lotus base with a serene expression, symbolizing his compassion and wisdom. He is also sometimes depicted holding a vase, symbolizing his role as a teacher and dispenser of the Buddhist teachings. Maitreya is considered a beloved and revered figure in the Buddhist tradition, inspiring devotion and respect among practitioners.
How do you take care of your statues?
• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching with the bare hand objects can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
