About Our Product

The Himalayan Prayer Stupa, also known as the Buddha Descends from Heaven Stupa or Lhabab Chorten, commemorates the Buddha’s return to Earth from the Trayastrimsa Heaven, where he went to teach his mother after her passing. This event is an essential part of Buddhist teachings, symbolizing the Buddha’s compassion as he descends to Earth to spread his wisdom. The Stupa embodies the Buddha’s journey and his decision to share his enlightenment with all beings, making it a powerful symbol of the transmission of wisdom and the overcoming of suffering.

The Buddha Descends from Heaven Stupa features a traditional Tibetan design with intricate details. Its conical shape symbolizes the path to enlightenment, with the multi-tiered base representing the stages of spiritual growth. The stupa’s gold-plated finish symbolizes wisdom and the enlightened mind, while the copper body enhances the beauty and significance of the piece. The stupa’s design also emphasizes the Buddha’s teachings of compassion, protection, and spiritual guidance, with each layer carefully crafted to reflect the sacred nature of the Buddha's journey.

This Himalayan Prayer Stupa is perfect for adding a spiritual symbol to your altar, meditation room, or sacred space. The Buddha Descending from Heaven Stupa serves as both a beautiful decorative piece and a profound reminder of the Buddha’s compassion and teachings. It is a valuable tool for meditation and reflection, bringing blessings, spiritual growth, and enlightenment to your space.

Introduction of Stupa

Before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. Some were cremated, but sometimes they were buried in a seated, meditative position. The mound of earth covered them up. Thus, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation, much as the Buddha was when he achieved Enlightenment and knowledge of the Four Noble Truths. The base of the stupa represents his crossed legs as he sat in a meditative pose. The middle portion is the Buddha’s body, and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Before images of the human Buddha were created, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
