About Our Statue
This handmade statue of Bodhisattva Chenrezig is standing at 8.5”/21.5cm (Height) and 6.1”/15.5cm (Base). This statue is made up of an oxidized copper body. Designed by talented Nepalese artisans, this detailed sculpture is ideal for altars, meditation areas, or as a meaningful decor item for individuals seeking awareness in their daily lives.
The deity sits on a moon-disc lotus seat. A crystal rosary in the upper right hand represents the never-ending cycle of life, death, and regeneration. The lotus in the upper left-hand represents the deity's role in assisting mankind to overcome adversity and unpleasant conditions, including hellish realms. The lower hands are gently put in a namaste motion, grasping a wish-fulfilling Jewel. The deity's peaceful and calm visage conveys compassion and tranquility.
Chenrezig is a central figure in Mahayana Buddhism, revered for his compassion. He is often depicted with multiple arms, each representing a facet of his loving kindness and his readiness to provide help. His mantra, Om Mani Padme Hum, is one of the most widely recited in Buddhism, embodying the essence of compassionate action. As a bodhisattva, Chenrezig embodies the ideal of postponing final enlightenment to aid all beings. He is considered a manifestation of Avalokiteshvara in Tibetan Buddhism, where he plays a central role in practices aimed at cultivating compassion and reducing suffering in the world.
How do you take care of your statues?
• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by a Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
• Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
