The Buddha sits cross-legged on a lotus throne, symbolizing purity and enlightenment. His right hand touches the earth in the bhumisparsha mudra, calling the world to witness his enlightenment. The left hand rests in his lap, holding an alms bowl, representing renunciation and inner peace. The ushnisha on top of his head signifies wisdom, while his elongated earlobes reflect his noble past as a prince and his understanding of suffering. A serene expression radiates compassion and meditative tranquility.
Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, is the historical founder of Buddhism. Born into royalty in ancient India, he renounced worldly life in search of the truth about suffering and liberation. After years of deep meditation and spiritual practice, he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree and became known as "Shakyamuni," which means "Sage of the Shakya Clan." He taught the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path as the way to overcome suffering and reach nirvana. Shakyamuni Buddha embodies compassion, wisdom, and the transformative power of inner awakening, guiding countless followers on their spiritual path.
Introduction to Shayamuni Buddha:
Shakyamuni Buddha, once Prince Siddhartha of the Shakya clan, left behind his royal comforts to seek a more profound truth beyond the joys and sorrows of the world. Through intense meditation and ascetic practice beneath the Bodhi tree, he attained enlightenment and became the Buddha—the Awakened One. Devoted to sharing the path to liberation, he taught the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. Shakyamuni symbolizes the potential for awakening in everyone, embodying wisdom that conquers ignorance and fosters serene detachment. His enduring presence invites us to cultivate compassion and mindfulness, and to embark on a transformative journey within ourselves.
How do you take care of your statues?
• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by a Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
