Shyama Tara, the gentle protector and symbol of compassion, sits poised with her right leg extended, ready to leap to the aid of those who call upon her. In her right hand, she holds a lotus, signifying purity and spiritual awakening, while her left hand forms the Three Jewel Mudra, honoring the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and also carries a lotus to symbolize continuous spiritual growth. Crowned with the Five Dhyani Buddhas, she shines with the fivefold wisdom of enlightenment. Resting on a lotus base with a moon disc, this statue captures her elegant yet lively spirit, guiding all seekers on their journey to awakening with boundless compassion and unwavering devotion.
Green Tara holds a special place in Tibetan Buddhism as a beloved deity embodying compassion, protection, and swift action. Known as a Bodhisattva—one who pursues enlightenment for the sake of all beings—she is affectionately called the Mother of all Buddhas. Green Tara is celebrated for her healing powers and compassionate shield, offering comfort and safety in times of trouble. Her hallmark is her rapid response to those who seek her aid, symbolizing immediate protection. Beyond this, she serves as a wise guide on the path to enlightenment, helping practitioners navigate and overcome life's challenges.
Introducion to Green Tara:
Green Tara, also known as Shyamatara, is a revered deity in Tibetan Buddhism. She embodies active compassion and swift assistance. Born from a tear of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, she is known as the "Mother of Liberation." Green Tara is invoked to remove obstacles, protect from harm, and offer healing, providing swift aid to those in need, especially during times of distress, anxiety, and difficulty.
How do you take care of your statues?
• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by a Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
