Bodhisattva Chenrezig, The God of Universal Compassion | Four-Armed Avalokiteshvara Thangka

Radiant in divine elegance, the Chenrezig, the god of universal compassion, is a beautifully hand-painted thangka depicting Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Infinite Mercy. Created on cotton canvas using natural stone colors and 24K gold, it reflects exceptional artistry and spiritual devotion. The green background adds warmth and a glow, emphasizing Chenrezig's serene presence. Each brushstroke is carefully applied in the traditional Karma Gadri style, known for its elegant proportions, open composition, and detailed craftsmanship. The vibrant colors combined with luminous gold outlines produce a mesmerizing glow, making it a perfect addition to any sacred or meditative space.

Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is a highly revered bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism, embodying universal compassion. It is believed that all Buddhas manifest through him to alleviate the suffering of sentient beings. In this thangka, Chenrezig is depicted with four arms, illustrating his limitless capacity to assist beings in all directions. His upper hands hold a lotus flower and a crystal mala—symbols of purity and boundless compassion—while his lower hands are joined in prayer at his heart, emanating love and serenity. He is seated on a vibrant lotus throne, surrounded by blooming lotuses and soft shades of green and orange, symbolizing enlightenment emerging from illusion. This Chenrezig painting embodies love and mindfulness, making it an ideal meditation aid or spiritual focal point for the home.
