Original 20 x 30 Inches Wrathful Sakya Mahakala With Retinue | Protector of the Dharma | Subduing Negativity & Bestowing Protection

Experience the dynamic energy of this hand-painted Wrathful Sakya Mahakala thangka, a remarkable artwork that blends divine symbolism with meticulous craftsmanship. Made in our Kathmandu, Nepal studio, it features vibrant acrylics on cotton canvas, accented with 24K gold. The classic Nakthang (gold-on-black) technique enhances its depth and richness, making it a standout piece that brings beauty and spiritual meaning to any setting.

Sakya Mahakala, the powerful protector of the Sakya tradition, is depicted with a dynamic, commanding presence that radiates strength and authority. His fierce appearance symbolizes the necessary force needed to transcend the ego, overcome obstacles, and eliminate harmful influences. As a guardian, he is renowned for safeguarding practitioners on their spiritual journey. In this painting, he is portrayed with two arms, wielding sacred implements such as a skull cup, ritual staff, and a curved knife with a vajra handle—all of which represent his capacity to sever delusion and bring clarity. His wrathful yet compassionate nature serves as a reminder of the strength necessary to face life’s challenges. Surrounding Mahakala are his attendants, which further augment the spiritual energy of the thangka. Collectively, they embody the protective forces that help overcome difficulties and maintain spiritual purity, thereby rendering this thangka a potent instrument for personal transformation.

This thangka not only enriches your home or meditation area with spiritual significance but also serves as a meaningful aid for reflection and inner development. Measuring 20" wide and 30" high, this canvas exemplifies Tibetan artistry, with every detail meticulously hand-painted. The striking use of 24K gold adds an aura of sacredness, channeling the protective energy of Mahakala. Whether you desire a focal point that commands attention or a profound spiritual connection, this thangka offers both.
