About our Statue:

The Shakyamuni Buddha Statue is a remarkable depiction of the Buddha in his enlightened state, designed to inspire peace, wisdom, and spiritual growth. Standing at 31 cm tall and weighing 3.92 kg, this statue is crafted from lapis lazuli, gold plating, gemstones, acrylic color, and a copper body, creating an energy. Shakyamuni, the historical Buddha, represents the path to enlightenment and embodies compassion, meditation, and wisdom. This statue serves as a powerful reminder of the Buddha's teachings and the potential for spiritual transformation.

The iconography of the Shakyamuni Buddha is rich in symbolism, with each feature representing key aspects of his enlightenment and teachings. His right hand, held in the Bhumisparsha mudra (earth-touching gesture), symbolizes the moment of his enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, calling upon the earth to witness his victory over Mara (illusion and temptation) and his deep connection to the earth. His left hand holds the Alms Bowl, reflecting his role as a humble monk dedicated to generosity, compassion, and the monastic life. The double lotus base signifies purity and spiritual awakening, marking his transcendence from samsara and the realization of full enlightenment. The ushnisha (topknot) represents expanded wisdom and spiritual power, while the urna (curl of hair) symbolizes his ability to see beyond ordinary perception. Finally, the monastic robes embody his renunciation of worldly attachments and dedication to a life of simplicity, humility, and service, encapsulating the Buddha's teachings of wisdom, compassion, and mindfulness.

Shakyamuni Buddha refers to Siddhartha Gautama, the historical founder of Buddhism, who lived in ancient India around the 6th to 5th century BCE. He attained complete enlightenment after years of spiritual practice and taught the path to liberation from suffering, which became known as the Dharma. His teachings emphasize compassion, wisdom, and the practice of mindfulness as means to achieve inner peace and awakening.

Introduction to Shakyamuni Buddha :

Siddhartha Gautama was raised as a king in accordance with the wishes of his royal father and was born the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom. When he was about 29 years old, he learned of people's immense suffering. He renounced his palatial lifestyle, lavish clothing, and fortune in order to discover the source of the anguish and find a cure. After over six years of study, self-denial, and tremendous concentration, he finally achieved his objective. He had attained nirvana (a Buddha). He then asserted that he had visited a deer park outside of Varanasi, India's Sarnath (Benares).

How Do You Take Care of Your Statues?
  • Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
  • Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
  • Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
  • Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
  • Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
Consecration Service Available

Each statue contains a sacred chamber for mantra and relic fillings to bestow spiritual empowerment. During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. There is a fee for this service, offered as a respectful contribution to the monastery.

Please note: Once consecrated, the statue becomes a sacred object and cannot be returned or refunded.
