Chakrasamvara Lotus Mandala | Tibetan Tantric Buddhist Art
About Our Lotus :
This Copper Lotus Flower Mandala of Chakrasamvara is a rare Tibetan ritual sculpture inspired by advanced tantric symbolism. The lotus Mandala represents Chakrasamvara in union with his consort Vajravarahi, surrounded by the Eight Dakinis, each revealed within the unfolding lotus petals. When closed, the sculpture forms a lotus bud; when opened, the petals expand outward to reveal the central deity and attendant dakini figures, expressing profound Vajrayana teachings through form and movement.
The design of this Chakrasamvara lotus Mandala reflects exceptional ritual engineering. The lotus stem is shaped as an eight-sided column encircled by a symbolic ring adorned with auspicious motifs, each aligned beneath a petal. This ring is connected internally to a central rod hidden within the stem, allowing the petals to open and close smoothly. Raising the ring opens the lotus petals, while lowering it draws them back into a closed bud, creating a balanced, intentional motion suited to ceremonial use and meditative visualization.
As a Lotus Mandala of Chakrasamvara and the Eight Dakinis, this piece holds deep significance in tantric Buddhist practice, where the lotus symbolizes purity beyond illusion and the dakinis embody awakened wisdom and transformative energy. Such mandalas are traditionally associated with higher Vajrayana rituals, altar display, and advanced meditation practices. This sculpture stands as a powerful expression of devotion, symbolism, and sacred Himalayan artistry.
