About our Statue:
This handmade Shakyamuni Buddha Statue is finely crafted by skilled Nepali artisans, showcasing the elegance of traditional workmanship. Measuring 6.7”/17 cm in height with a 4.3”/11 cm base and weighing 0.59 kg, it is created from a copper body with silver plating, delicately enriched with gold and acrylic paintings. The statue depicts Shakyamuni, the historical Buddha, who embodies wisdom, compassion, and the path to enlightenment. Its compact size makes it a meaningful piece for home altars, meditation spaces, temples, or personal collections, serving as a reminder of the Buddha’s teachings and presence.
The iconography of Shakyamuni Buddha shows him seated in deep meditation upon a lotus base, symbolizing purity and enlightenment. His right hand reaches down to touch the earth in the bhumisparsha mudra, a gesture that recalls the moment he called the earth to witness his enlightenment. The left hand rests calmly in his lap, holding a begging bowl that represents simplicity and renunciation. He is dressed in simple monastic robes, reflecting humility and detachment from worldly life. The urna on his forehead signifies spiritual vision, while the ushnisha, a crown-like shape on the top of his head, symbolizes his awakened wisdom. Together, these features embody Shakyamuni as the enlightened teacher who revealed the path to liberation.
Introduction to Shakyamuni Buddha:
Shakyamuni Buddha renounced his royal life to pursue a more profound truth that transcended material pleasures and suffering. He was born Prince Siddhartha of the Shakya clan. After years of rigorous asceticism and meditation, he became enlightened under the Bodhi tree and became the Buddha—the Awakened One. He then dedicated his life to teaching the Eightfold Path and the Four Noble Truths to attain liberation. Shakyamuni Buddha stands for the potential for all beings to awaken. He embodies wisdom that leads to ultimate freedom, the victory over ignorance, and the tranquility of non-attachment. His presence is a timeless reminder of the transformative power of inner realization, compassion, and mindfulness.
How Do You Take Care of Your Statues?
- Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
- Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
- Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
- Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
- Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
