The Buddha is seated in padmasana atop a lotus base, symbolizing purity and spiritual awakening. His right hand is in bhūmisparśa mudrā (earth-touching gesture), signifying the moment of his enlightenment, while his left hand holds an alms bowl, representing renunciation and the monastic path. The ushnisha on his head signifies wisdom, and the elongated earlobes reflect his noble birth and renunciation of worldly wealth. This serene depiction embodies tranquility, spiritual awakening, and the foundational teachings of the Buddha.
Introduction to Shakyamuni Buddha:
Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, was a spiritual teacher who lived over 2,500 years ago in ancient India. He is regarded as the founder of Buddhism and is revered for his teachings on the path to liberation from suffering. At the core of his teachings are the Four Noble Truths: acknowledging suffering, understanding its cause, realizing its cessation, and following the path to liberation. This path is known as the Noble Eightfold Path, which includes right view, intention, speech, action, livelihood, effort, mindfulness, and concentration—guiding principles for ethical conduct and mental discipline leading to the end of suffering and ultimate freedom.
How do you take care of your statues?
• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
• Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
